Palo, the ‘paw’fect companion

While Valentine’s Day is traditionally celebrated as a day where lovers express their affection, it is also a day to share the love for something you hold so dearly.

Inga’s heart was stolen when she first met her beautiful cavoodle puppy, so when she made the decision to move into Burpengary Manor there was no way little Palo could not come too. Now Inga says four-year old Palo is the greatest love of her life.

This much-loved companion has also been important in helping Inga build strong social connections. Because of Palo, Inga says she has, ‘met new people and made new friends, ’ at Burpengary Manor, and it has helped her to, ‘not feel isolated’. The pair like to visit everyone in the home and those who have had dogs in the past especially appreciate the visits.

Having someone by her side all the time has provided Inga with  much happiness and companionship. Palo is a protective watch dog and is always on the lookout for any strangers that she doesn’t recognise, or any danger that may be about.

The gentle cavoodle has also been important in helping Inga to keep active. ‘She encourages me to go for walks every day and play fetch outside in the garden.’

‘Palo means the world to me,’ says Inga, adding, ‘I wouldn't be very happy if I didn't have her. I am happy, and feel safe when Palo is with me. She is my companion, part of my family, she loves me’.
